This week was wild. We saw a ton of brands start to play in the digital space, MLK is getting his own experience in Fortnite, and the BAYC got a mutant makeover. It’s totally understandable if your head is spinning.

Vans dabbled in their first metaverse-ish digital experience on Roblox. In the Vans world, users can trick out skateboards, hang at the beach, and compete against other users in a handful of skating competitions. If you have a chance - I highly suggest you take a digital trip to this experience. My personal favorite part was being able to pick out my grip.
NFX Signal just dropped their NFT-influencer-tracker. In my opinion, this is one of the first big products that attaches the word “influencer” to an NFT. If you’re ever curious what Gary Vee is minting, now you can know.
BMW rolled out a “metaverse” called Joytopia, and are bringing Coldplay with them. You’ll notice that The Verge is super skeptical - I am, too. However, I think what BMW is trying to do is create the first digital auto experience built by a major car brand. I get it. But… why Coldplay?
It’s time to get familiar with the shorthand “P2E”. This new play-to-earn game, Faraland, is proving to be as addictive and lucrative as Axie.
🤔 Metaintro Discovery
When your head is in the metaverse, it’s easy to forget that the explanation of a digital reality could be completely lost on others. A great example was Cramer on CNBC. With that idea in mind, I was curious to survey random people on how they explain the metaverse and how they think it’ll affect their work life. Here were their responses:
“The importance that a metaverse potentially imports is the eradication of video… The comfortability of using metaverses, through gaming platforms such as Fortnite or Roblox; will bring a new understanding to the concept.”
Shiv Gupta, Marketing Director
“Work in the metaverse extends well beyond gaming. Virtual casinos, like the one run in Decentraland, is hiring real people, and artists like Philip Colbert are creating virtual neighborhoods like Lobsteropolis inside Decentraland complete with income-generating tourism opportunities. Take it a step further, and companies like Consensus are holding virtual events and NFT art galleries in VR.”
Brady Werkheiser, SEO analyst
“People will be able to pursue occupations that are outside of their recognized expertise without… the hurdles to entry that they are now facing, such as age and connections. I believe the metaverse provides a more equitable second chance at life and career.”
Erin Zadoorian, CEO/Executive Editor
Many brands are going towards the metaverse, either by accident or on purpose, resulting in a global economy that will outperform the current one many times over. There will be no choice but to participate.
Chris Taylor, Marketing Director
“People will… work in the Metaverse selling cars, insurance, or pizza in virtual UberEats stands.”
Orlando Remedios, Business Owner
